Details :	Beautiful, colorful, sturdy & cleverly designed, eco friendly bags @ the Galle Flea Market this coming Sunday! Inspired by the ever-flying plastic bags here in Sri Lanka, rice & carry bags is creating awareness and securing a fair income to women on Sri Lanka’s east coast. In comparison to the wretched plastic bags the rice bags have always been reused for many purposes from garbage bag to pannier. With our rice & carry bags they want to improve this approach and create a thoughtful souvenir or gift. They are made by local ladies of the area around Arugam Bay, helping contribute to secure a small income especially for women of Sri Lanka’s east coast. The bags are mostly done in homework so the women can decide themselves when and how much they want to work. We hope you enjoy their wonderful work and find the bags a worthy souvenir from this beautiful island. They are not perfect but made with love & enthusiasm. The Galle Fort Flea Market takes over the Law Court Square on the first Sunday of every month from 10am to 6pm - Live music & entertainment all day!
